sleek and right

i love the sixties. the motown grooves. the great dance moves. and most importantly the sleek and simple fashion. pringle of scotland's fall 2009 presentation definitely showed inspiration from this amazing decade. the streamlined suiting in grey matched with the cardigan as shirt is a good twist on a classic and i am love with the sienna sleeve detailing. the color is beautiful...

i am always one for black and white, but sometimes you need to add a little bit of color to make things pop. this outfit is actually my favorite to wear to work when i am selling clothes to the masses. i usually have my black vinyl gym bag with me as my main accessory and the deadstock vintage sunglasses just top this off perfectly....

after a crazy night, i often go online to check out some of my favorite clothing websites to see what is new and what possible additions i can make to my wardrobe. recently, a co-worker of mine added another great website to my list of favorites. oaknyc.com provides a good variety of styles and labels that very much fit my own personal tastes. these two pieces i am sure will become some of my most loved.....

this is my favorite look from the kris van assche fall 2009 collection and definitely something i will be trying in the coming months. from the play on texture and volume and the great slouch boot, this piece, which was also his final look for the runway presentation, is an example of why i love fall fashions. it's all about the layers...

jump

so i took a break from the blog to take care of some things and clear my head. i really wanted to just get back to the things i loved about fashion and challenge myself.

today's new look is something i must say i really do love. it may be a little bit different than what i see on most guys in minneapolis, but hey...since when i have i not be different....

i have been looking for some fun variations on the basic white t-shirt and topman has a great selection of white tees with a twist. here are two of my favorites:

i am in need of some new sandals badly. my basic flip flops are starting to fall apart and i want a pair that are stylish and versatile enough to compliment any outfit and can be worn casually walking down the street or to a fun summer party. here are some the pairs i have been looking at and have pulled inspiration from to help me find my dream pair.

sheer genius

this look is something i want to try. sheer is something i am kind of getting into and lately i have been buying more and more sheer tanks and tees from american apparel as layering items, but now i want to try using it as more of an everyday shirt. this outfit from marc jacobs spring/summer 2009 is the perfect mix of classic style with dark sex appeal.

computer blue

i was looking around at the menswear collections for spring/summer 2009 on style.com and i found this outfit. the bright color combination, amazing fringe high tops, and electric blue spring jacket ....my idea of a great summer look....

minty fresh

lately i have been dealing with a lot of new things going on in my life. i went living alone in a studio to living with two of my friends in a small house just a stone's throw away from the saint paul border. i have a new bike that i love (a candy apple schwinn) and seem to be just adopting a new, fresh attitude in general. this outfit may be a perfct reflection of that change. gone are the dark greys and navy and in are the pastels and light neutrals. hopefully this positive change will continue. one can only try...
